Research Fellowship in Computer Vision and Machine Learning

Scholarships for Students The Research Fellow to be employed at Noldus Information Technology will develop multimodal technologies for measuring behavior of automated reasoning, and feedback for the various domains of applications. In order to allow context-aware systems automatically analyze and respond to user behavior, the measurement system is needed that recognizes the user and interpret its behavior.Scholarships for Students computer vision techniques using one or more camera views to interpret what is happening in the scene without interrupting. Behavior in everyday life, including eating behavior, is a combination of in-depth action. Analysis of position eg certain body parts such as heads and hands, gaze direction and possible interactions with other people or objects indicate what action is actually performed. This Scholarships for Students research will involve Bayesian techniques for measuring and tracking articulated pose estimation from monocular camera or multiple cameras, an online action / gesture classification, detection and identification of objects, and the distance to the camera. To improve resilience and efficiency analysis, multimodal approach will be followed by including other types of sensors (eg accelerometer) which act in a complementary measure, but an additional way. Conduct multi-sensor recognition systems will feed into a program of Complex Event Processing (CEP), which also receives data from other sources (eg databases). http://www.callforpapersinfo.com
http://thescholarshipprogramme.com CEP software continue to receive a "simple" events from various sources, integrate and / or combine them for the introduction of complex events, stores them for retrieval later, and sparked a real-time feedback and actions.Scholarships for Students Research work will be done in the department of Research & Development Noldus Information Technology at Wageningen. Scientific oversight will be provided by Dr Oliver Amft, Department of Electrical Engineering, Eindhoven University of Technology, where the Research Fellow will be registered as a Ph.D. students.

How to Apply: Scholarships for Students Candidates are invited to submit their application, including letter of motivation, curriculum vitae and the names of two references, as a Word file or PDF, for work-at-noldus.nl,

Phase boundaries are “blurred” at the nano-scale, enabling alloys of otherwise immiscible elements and the possibility of novel nanoparticles for electrochemical energy conversion technologies (fuel cells and batteries). You will theoretically investigate the dependence of miscibility on particle size using Density-Functional-Theory (DFT) and tailored, fast-evaluating Hamiltonians. You will take advantage of automated DFT calculations to generate a database of reference calculations and construct fast-evaluating energy models to push beyond the level of complexity suitable for DFT. You will study the thermodynamics of metallic nanoparticles, leading to phase diagrams as a function of particle size. You are excited about Science with a strong interest in Materials Science. You are interested in alternative energies, electrochemistry, as well as theoretical research. You bring exceptional computational skills and are interested in machine learning. You enjoy exploring new ideas, are self-motivated, and like to work in a young and dynamic team. The School is a diverse community which is committed to creating an inclusive working and learning environment in which all individuals are equally treated and valued, and can achieve their potential. The School considers all studentship applications in relation to academic criteria and regardless of the individual’s race, nationality, gender, or belief.
Eligibility: Scholarships for Students Candidates will have a first or upper second class degree (orequivalent) in relevant disciplines, e.g. Materials Science, Physics or Chemistry. The successful candidate will work with a group of highly motivated, first class research students in the areas of Computational Materials Design, Thermodynamics, Electrochemistry, and Alternative Energies Commencing on 1 October 2011
